Get Carter (1971)

I keep going through the list of free movies to download through cable, and every time I see Get Carter I get all excited, then I click on it and see that it's the Stallone version. So, finally, I just picked this up at the library. Michael Caine is off-the-charts brilliant in this bleak kitchen-sink thriller. It was slow-moving at first but the scene where Jack Carter flips on the home movie in the final third is like a gut-punch. My favorite line: "You know, I'd almost forgotten what your eyes looked like. Still the same. Pissholes in the snow."
