Please Give (2010)
A short story of a film. It was decent but not all that memorable. Oliver Platt and Catherine Keener play a New York couple that buy mid-century furniture from the children of dead Manhattanites. They are also awaiting the death of their elderly neighbor so that they can crash through the wall and expand their place. It's a film that's well-acted, low-key, and never explicitly bad but it doesn't add up to much. Rebecca Hall and Amanda Peet play the granddaughters of the elderly neighbor, and there is a plot twist with Amanda Peet and Oliver Platt that is far from believable. Rebecca Hall is very good.
