This was an air-conditioning movie. Charlene and I gardened all day in this ninety-degree heat (in May?!) and needed a little quality time in Somerville Theatre's cool interior, a mere two minute walk away. It was okay, a fairly average raunchy comedy with a high concept plot, namely the hot tub of the title. What's good: all of Craig Robinson, some of John Cusack, some of Rob Corddry. What's bad: it's just sloppily put together in ways that could have been fixed, and it's only sporadically funny. I did like the relationships between the main characters--they seemed more realized and genuine than the friendship between the characters in last year's four-guys-big-budget-raunchy-comedy
The Hangover.
